Salento, also known as the Salento peninsula, is a subregion of southern Puglia, located between the Ionian Sea (Porto Cesareo, Porto Selvaggio, Gallipoli) to the west and the Adriatic Sea (Otranto) to the east. It is the easternmost area of Italy.
