Recently I had the privilege of visiting the Campanile del Duomo di Lecce, a splendid bell tower in the historic center of Lecce.
The Bell Tower of Lecce is an incredible sight to see and is open to the public seven days a week. During the day, visitors can take a panoramic lift up to the highest level, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the whole of Salento.
With its 45 meters of height (the level that can be visited by the public), the bell tower of Lecce has four balconies that offer an incomparable view of the city and its surroundings. From every balcony, visitors can look out over the winding cobbled streets of the historic centre, allowing them to appreciate the city's unique character and architectural heritage. Furthermore, you can see all the churches in the area and a splendid view of the Adriatic and Ionian coast from afar. On the clearest days you can also see Albania and Gallipoli in the distance!
