On 24 July Gallipoli is more colorful than ever and celebrates the feast in honor of the patron saint of the pearl city of the Ionian Sea.
Santa Cristina di Bolsena was a young girl who was martyred during the persecution of Christians in the early 4th century AD. The Christian Church remembers it on July 24, as does the Orthodox Church. The Saint she is Patrona Secondaria, together with Sant'Agata and San Sebastiano and is venerated for having freed the city from cholera in 1867. & nbsp;
